SAHAN is a networking non-governmental organization which fights against HIV/AIDS and leading more than 100 organizations which work on humanitarian assistance activities which specially put pressure on HIV/AIDS by working on all towns in Somaliland regions. Despite of this the disease is spreading day by day for the last decade.
Therefore, due to the rapid increase of HIV/AIDS SAHAN began an inventory of HIV/AIDS stakeholders in Somaliland which have started on 28th of July to 22nd September 2008. More than 120 organizations both member and non-member which work in six regions in Somaliland are registered.
There were interviewed organizations which were four categories namely, LNGOs, International NGOs, UN agencies and governmental institutions. Hence the overall aim of this inventory was to produce a comprehensive data collected from every organization which works against HIV/AIDS.
The second important aim was to update a former directory in 2006 because of speedy expansion of SAHAN members. An inventory SOLNAC was played a crucial role for the completion of this directory which will be obtained from both SOLNAC and SAHAN network websites.
